    I am DONE with all home warranty companies and WOULD NOT recommend Colonial (also known as XPD) Home Warranty to my worst enemy. Our A/C unit not cooling downstairs so I called Colonial who sent out JRC Air Conditioning (also would NOT recommend) and was told it was the compressor. Long story short, CHW would not cover because they claimed the fins were bent and we didn't have maintenance records; just service records.   • Absolute Ripoff!



    Denied my claim for HVAC failure/replacement,which was the only reason I purchased the policy which they originally said would cover the unit, because I could not produce records of maintenance from the previous homeowner. I was going to cancel the policy, but by the time they deducted all their mice-typed fees, hell, there was little to nothing to refund. So, I decided to keep it until it ran out.   • Worse Service Ever!! Ripp Off!! BAD service!! DO NOT GET this company!!



    I had a gas/oven main panel board, damaged/function. My service call was not returned , til I followed up after 7 days. They did not cover it, because theres is another 30 day exclusion, in very small print after your waiting period of another 30 day additional time frame. Theres so many exclusion afeter your 30 day waiting period, its impossible to find in all of there wording.     I have had Conial Home Warranty for about 5 years. I had a couple small claims with no issues but i have not had a claim in over 3 years. I had a problem with my dryer and they are refusing the claim because they said i had a foil vent on it. I took pictures and had to have the tech they sent out write a letter stating it was not foil.     After having been with American Homeshield for 10 years, I shopped around and found Colonial. In comparing the policy, the CHW policy provided more coverage at a much lower price. I figured, "How bad could it be?" It has been horrible. I've needed them for two claims and both have been a massive and epic disaster. The latest claim was for my refrigerator.     Absolutely the worst. Totally regret getting sucked into purchasing the home warranty. I have submitted 3 different claims since I got this contract and NOTHING has been done. The first one was for my A/C unit. Took 3 referred contracts to finally come out. Now I have to come up with $600 for a leak inspection. Then another claim for my dishwasher.     Due to the fraudulent nature of this business, ( They called the manufacturer and claimed to be my husband) to get free parts and then wouldn't cover the cost to put the part in, I cancelled the policy.     I filed a claim in May on repair of my AC unit. Colonial sent me two AC companies who they said could do the repair. Both companies said they would not work for this company as they were not paid for their work. (David) told me to get someone to fix the AC and send them a bill.   • Colonial finds every loop hole- read the fine print BEFORE you pay



    I purchased Colonial's warranty for 2 homes. When I needed them 8 months into it, I found that none of our air conditioning companies wanted to work with them. It took them over 3 weeks in the first heat of summer to get someone out to look at my air conditioner. By the time they got someone there, the coolant had run out and the system was broken.     I have an issue with water heater pilot (goes off every 3-4 hour) in my rental unit. I notified Collonial about the issue about a week ago and they sent a plumber to check it. When plumber was there water heater pilot was on and he left without doing anything.     After doing a lot of research we were convinced by Marc Gold at Colonial Home Warranty that they had the best plan and a large list of technicians in my area.   • Kenmore broken part in washer.



    This company is the biggest rip off around. DO NOT get involved with them. I tired to get a small part on my washing machine fixed and they told me it was under warranty - which is definitely is not as I checked with the manufacturer. The basket on the washer has a lifetime guarantee, but not any other part.     I have had to report my gargage door opener twice and each time the tech comes out and it starts working. The Home Warranty people make me pay additional deductible each time and no one trys to locate the issue that causes the door not to open, just say it is working at the time.     This company is a joke, please don't purchase a plan from them. Their managers are very rude and will tell you anything to get you off the phone. They don't honor your claims.     Very disappointed. I've had Colonial for a few years and never filed a claim. Had my A/C unit go out...very old unit and finally went. Hoping for the best, I got them involved and filed.     I had to file a claim with Colonial on my 2 1/2 year old Samsung Front loader washer because a code came up that read, "call for service".     I had an A/C go out 5 months after purchasing a Colonial Home Warranty for $398.50 and they refused my claim because I was unable to provide a home inspection report, I did however provide a report from a licensed HVAC engineer certifying my unit to be in normal working order 2 months after the house purchase date.     We purchased Colonial Home Warranty last Oct, after having Allied Home warranty for over 3 years. Allied encouraged their customers to have their a/c/heating unit checked every Spring and Winter, by only charging $60.00 copay to have the service provider out to check the unit.     Colonial Home warranty does EVERYTHING they can to not pay for service.     I called to get help with my washing machine and it took several calls to get a repairman to the house. The contractors they work with are none responsive. We had to call 3 time and received 3 different contractors who in the end didn't show up. We ended up finding our own technician.     On December 21, 2012, I put in a claim to have my oven repaired. The oven portion of my stove would not light. Colonial assigned a contractor to handle the job.     This company has the most unprofessional contractors, customer service reps, and supervisors. My experience is as follows: The contractor came to my home to fix my dishwasher.   • Hot Water Tank Leak



    I would not recommend this home warranty company to anyone !!! I had an undetected pipe leak that caused a more pronounced leak around where the pipe comes up from the tank. They have their policy worded so well that they do not cover any "tank issues". this was not a tank issue. This was explained to Colonial by myself and my plumbing contractor.     I called about a toilet in my house running water uncontrollably. The company kept on placing me with Contractors that told me that I was out of their Jurisdiction.
