Colonial Home Warranty dishonorable - home warranty


Colonial does not honor their contract. They claim we are not covered for the hot water heater which broke down on Christmas day. Their terms "Coverage will begin 30 days after applicable fees have been received by Colonial. " We paid Nov. 1 they accepted they payment in full on Nov. 2, the hot water heater broke Dec. 25. I don't know what calendar they use but we should be covered, however they denied it saying we were stillin the first 30 days and coverage starts Jan 2!
Do not waste your time or money with them.

POOR SERVICE
Colonial also sell policies in CA but their authorization department is only open until 5pm Eastern time. This leaves CA residence paying for their own repairs after 3pm pacific time. Then you have to submit a request for payment. They drag their feet, I've called Colonial and the contractor several times to get all the paperwork completed. I'm still due the $315 for the repair.

The purpose of a home warranty is that you won't have to dip into your pocket for repairs. NOT WITH COLONIAL!!! GET READY TO PAY FOR THEIR POLICY AND THEN PAY FOR REPAIRS TOO.

The claim of not honoring our contract is incorrect. Our terms are available on our website for anyone to review prior to purchase.
